Coalition for Lifesaving Epinephrine Auto-injector Responsibility
Washington, D.C., July 19, 2019 - The Coalition for Lifesaving Epinephrine Auto-injector Responsibility (CLEAR), the first organized coalition formed to harness the collective support from all advocates in the United States, applauds Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) for his upcoming Press Conference on Sunday, July 21, supporting CLEAR's goal of having the U.S. Congress enact a law requiring Epinephrine injectable medicine be stockpiled on commercial airlines to support passenger health and safety.
CLEAR formed on July 7th in collaboration with Harvard University student Alexa Jordan who, on May 15th, 2019, suffered an anaphylactic attack on a Southwest commercial airlines flight from Boston to Chicago after ingesting a cross-contaminated salad she bought at Logan Airport.
CLEAR is working relentlessly with all interested parties to ensure that commercial airplanes carry lifesaving epinephrine injectable medicine.
"CLEAR is pleased that U.S. Senate Minority Leader Schumer recognizes the urgent need for commercial airlines to stockpile epinephrine injectables" CLEAR Founder Robert K. Houton said. "We look forward to working with all members of Congressional leadership, Republican and Democrat, and President Trump, to pass legislation and enact into law this critically needed safeguard so that commercial airline passengers have epinehrine injectables stockpiled on commercial airlines."
